Pursue the New

As we stand at the threshold of a new year, we're invited into a profound truth that transcends mere calendar changes or New Year's resolutions: the transformative power of becoming new creations in Christ. Drawing from 2 Corinthians 5:17, this message challenges our natural resistance to change and calls us into the liberating reality that in Christ, we are not repaired or recycled—we are completely recreated. The journey unfolds across three dimensions: our spirit is made new instantly at salvation, receiving a complete transplant rather than a repair; our soul is progressively renewed day by day through the transforming power of God's Word; and our body carries the promise of future glorification. This isn't about behavior modification or turning over a new leaf—it's about recognizing that when we call on Jesus' name, we receive a new heart and a new spirit, as promised in Ezekiel 36:26. The old things have genuinely passed away, and we are no longer defined by our past identities, struggles, or failures. The call to 'word up'—to abide in Scripture daily—becomes our pathway to freedom, as truth rewires our thinking and aligns our souls with who we already are in our spirits. This is the spiritual awakening our world desperately needs, and it begins with us embracing and living from our new identity.
